Escheat
Did you forget some money somewhere?
Disclaimer
I’m not sure what the process is so make sure to consult with an attorney and/or accountant on implications. I just thought it was an interesting topic. I’d love to hear from anyone that ends up finding some money. Mainly doing this post cause I had never heard of this and was an interesting topic. Please listen to the podcast for a great story around escheat.
Escheat
Essentially you may have property or money you either forgot about or lost that is in the hands of the state. Things like a lost paycheck, stock you forgot about from a previous company, or even property.
